Who Must Register For GST

The annual turnover determined whether GST registration is mandatory ot optional. If your turn over is less than $50,000, registration is optional; if your turn over $50,000 or more, registration is mandatory.

If you are registered for GST, you must charge GST on the supply of goods and services in Australia. If you are not registered for GST, you must not charge GST on the supply of goods and services in Australia. If you are not registered for GST, you can not claim the GST component back (input tax credits) you incurred from other businesses.
